Chinese trade policy faces three broad challenges currently: relations with the U.S; completion of the RCEP trade deal; and implementing the belt-and-road initiative. With the U.S. there are 24 ongoing trade cases (from the U.S. side) with varying degrees of severity. Most important is the section 301 review of Chinese intellectual property practices.
